Plans made to build 53 houses on unused Wiltshire land

Plans to build 53 new houses on unworkable agricultural land have been submitted to a planning committee.

The proposed houses will be located to the west of Semington Road, near the south west of Melksham town centre.

As per Wiltshire Council planning policy, 30% of the new homes are expected to be affordable.

Developers Terra Strategic said the affordable homes will come in a mixture of tenures, ranging from affordable renting and shared ownership.

According the Local Democracy Reporting Service, in 2017 plans for 160 houses in roughly the same area were rejected and in 1990 plans for 76 houses in the area were also rejected.
