Arteta had a number of different options he could have called upon from the bench but perhaps no like-for-like for Xhaka.Kieran Tierney could have come on, with Oleksandr Zinchenko moving into midfield. But Arteta instead chose Fabio Vieira over both Tierney and Mohamed Elneny. The summer signing was poor in the remainder of the first half. However, he came up with a fine assist for Martin Odegaard’s goal with a Xhaka-type run to provide a glimpse of what he can give the team when the Swiss star is unavailable.Lokonga down pecking orderAlbert Sambi Lokonga had been named in every Arsenal match day squad so far this season. However, the Belgian was left out of the 20 for this game in the Midlands.Arteta said there were no new injury concerns this week, so it appears his absence was purely down to selection. Lokonga has expressed his frustration at a lack of first-team action on more than one occasion. However, he has been unable to take his chance when given it this season. The 23-year-old appears to be back down the pecking order and it will be difficult for him to earn a starting spot anytime soon.DON’T MISSRonaldo has helped Manchester United make a brilliant signingMan City star Laporte in horror collision vs Brentford as blood gushes from headSolskjaer has left Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag a fantastic present
