Frank Lampard pulls Everton players away from furious fans as police intervene

The Everton boss had to remind his players of their responsibilities after another poor performance on the road that sees the Toffees hover just one point above the drop zone

Frank Lampard was forced to pull his Everton players away from their own travelling fans after tensions increased following their 3-0 defeat Bournemouth.

Lampard’s side were 2-0 down inside the opening 25 minutes courtesy of some dire goalkeeping from England’s number one Jordan Pickford just before the World Cup is set to begin. The Everton players made their way over to the away end in a bid to say thank you for the support but things turned sour quickly.

Pickford had to be dragged away by his manager after what appeared to be a heated exchange between the shot-stopper and an Everton fan. Alex Iwobi threw his shirt into the crowd only to see it angrily thrown back onto the pitch.

It was an afternoon to forget for the Everton goalkeeper who spilled the boll for Bournemouth’s first and was slow to respond for their second. Jaidon Anthony capped off a stellar display from the hosts with a third in the second half.
