Meghan gives powerful statement after receiving honour

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been featured on Hello magazine’s ‘Kind List’ for 2022. The publication announced a new category this year to shine a light on ‘inspirational’ people, some of whom are not in the public eye, and Meghan has put forward her own entry for the list. The royal couple feature on the list this year as a result of their sincere and inspiring kindness, according to Hello.The annual list is used to honour some of the most inspirational people including celebrities, royals, trailblazers, environmentalists and athletes.But ahead of World Kindness Day on Sunday, November 13, the magazine has introduced a new category – Inspirations. The Duchess put forward her own entry, celebrating Kate Stephens, CEO of Smart Works.  Meghan is featured on the kindness list (Image: Getty)Smart Works is a charity focused on giving women the confidence to reach their full potential, secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives, according to its website. The Duchess of Sussex has been a patron of the charity since 2019. When making her nomination, she told Hello: “One form of kindness that is particularly meaningful is when women uplift and support other women.”Kate Stephens, CEO of Smart Works, does this day in and day out, working with her team to help thousands of women across the UK by providing them with the tools they need to feel empowered and prepared for the workforce.READ MORE: Sophie Wessex praised as royal compared to Meghan Markle ‘She gets it’ Prince Harry and Meghan are on the list for their “sincere and inspiring kindness” (Image: Getty) The Duke of Sussex was also featured on the list (Image: Getty)”The ability to walk into a room feeling your best should be a right, not a luxury.”Under Kate’s inspiring leadership the Smart Works team provides meaningful coaching, community, and work attire – equipping women in need with the resources and confidence to make a lasting change in their lives.”Kate consistently leads by example, proving that when we invest in women, we invest in our collective future. It has been an incredible privilege to be patron of this extraordinary organisation, led by Kate, and to witness this beautiful display of kindness in action.”Prince Harry, who featured alongside Meghan on this year’s Kind List, also put forward his own suggestion – British filmmaker Baroness Beeban Kidron, founder of 5Rights Foundation – a charity which advocates for children’s rights in the digital world. But possibly her greatest asset is her genuine kindness. She’s the kind of person that makes you want to join her mission: strengthening the rights of young people in the digital age”. Meghan, who was added to the list in part for her activism on women’s rights, has been involved in various campaign opportunities advocating for gender equality. In her podcast, launched earlier this year, she speaks with high-profile women and looks to challenge societal gender stereotypes.
