The record signing’s goal earned a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace after Wilfried Zaha’s penalty miss
There was so much scrutiny on Nottingham Forest after that record-breaking transfer window, but Steve Cooper appears to have finally found the formula for success.
After 15 Premier League matches Forest are off the bottom of the table and the improvement under Cooper by his expensively assembled team has been remarkable.
Cooper was given the task of moulding 23 new players into a cohesive outfit and eight of those summer arrivals started here, with record signing Morgan Gibbs-White, Jesse Lingard and Remo Freuler excellent.
Gibbs-White, the £25 million recruit, scored the only goal to lift Forest into 18th place on an excruciating afternoon for Crystal Palace.
