However, she received good news tonight, as she was declared innocent by the jury. Things were looking up for Nicola too, as all of the other girls were found guilty of her attack. Despite this, the trauma of her ordeal still weighed heavily on Nicola, as she realised that having to face Naomi in the village every day would continually remind her of the assault. While Jimmy (Nick Miles) not so helpfully told her that it was time to draw a line under things as her attackers are going to be punished, Nicola pointed out that she is also being punished by the memories of what happened, and seeing Naomi every day isn't going to help that. Jimmy called in back-up in the form of Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), who gave Nicola advice and eventually persuaded her to forgive Naomi. In the interest of building bridges, Nicola paid a visit to Naomi and her family, but was horrified to discover that she'd walked in on a celebration. She then made it clear that there was no way she could forgive Naomi for what had happened and walked out, abandoning her plans to talk to her privately.
