DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER two decades of being a full-time mum, I fear I’ve blown my chance of a career.
I’m proud of what I’ve achieved as a single mother. I love my girls more than anything, but I feel like my own identity has disappeared and my confidence has gone.
Now they’re growing up – they’re 21, 15 and 11 – I’m scared about what will happen to me when they finally leave home for good.
I’m only 39 and have so many years of life ahead of me.
But I can’t find a decent job. When I apply, I don’t even get an interview, which is like a slap in the face every time.
