Mum’s disgust as school serves just three potato wedges and beans for lunch

The pupil at West Monmouth School in Wales was served the meal on Monday, November 7, with her mother claiming she was told this was a “normal portion” when the pupil asked for more

A mum was left furious when her 16-year-old daughter was served a tiny school lunch of three potato wedges and a spoonful of beans.

The pupil at West Monmouth School in Wales was served the meal on Monday, November 7, with her mother claiming she was told this was a “normal portion” when the pupil asked for more.

The head teacher of the school in Pontypool said that there had been an error in the kitchen with pupils served side portions instead of main meals. She said that the mistake came on the first day a new catering provider took over lunch provisions at the school.

The mum, who wanted only to be known as Michele, shared the photo of her child’s lunch on social media after being sent the photo from her daughter. The post was met with other parents responding with similar concerns about the portion size their children had received.
