Fittingly, Matt Mercer, best known nowadays for running the Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role, makes an appearance as Fairbanks, the leader of a band of freedom fighters. He's joined by Ashly Burch (Aloy from the Horizon games) and Sumalee Montano (Yuna from Ghost Of Tsushima), both of whom have made guest appearances on Critical Role during its second campaign. None of the other Critical Role regulars have been cast in the show but if all you're looking for is for those actors to appear together in an animated series, that's what Amazon's The Legend Of Vox Machina is for. In lieu of any more info on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, BioWare and Netflix have announced an animated series airing in just a few weeks.
While the game has now entered the alpha stage of development, there’s still no telling when Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will launch.
It’s been almost 10 years since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out, so even if Dreadwolf does release in 2023, it’s going to have been a very long wait.
Perhaps this is why BioWare has partnered with Netflix to create a new cartoon based on the games for December, so as to give fans a quick shot of Tolkien-esque fantasy to keep them going.
Titled Dragon Age: Absolution, it will consist of only six episodes and tell a wholly original story about a brand new cast of characters.
