NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Police searching for an astronomer who vanished while working in Chile confirmed a body has now been found.
Professor Tom Marsh, 60, went missing on September 16 from the La Silla observatory, which is on the outskirts of the Atacama Desert.
Officers tweeted yesterday a body had been found in the desert after an ‘intense search’, around three miles away from the observatory.
Warwick University, where Professor Marsh worked in the physics department, also confirmed the discovery of the body but said no formal identification has yet been made.
