Impersonators ride the wave of Twitter Blue

Twitter launched its £6.99 blue-tick verification system and it immediately spawned a wave of impersonators.

Twitter Blue is the main new feature that Musk has introduced since taking over the company, which he hopes will raise revenue and help weed out bots by creating a mass layer of verification via credit card. Critics said it would be open to abuse – and so it seemed in its first few hours.
