Famous scenes from previous instalments of the Netflix historical drama have been shot at Lancaster House, which doubles as Buckingham Palace, and Winchester Cathedral, which was a stand-in for St Paul’s Cathedral.
With the latest series lurching towards the 1990s, with Imelda Staunton taking over from Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, a fresh batch of influential moments, and landmarks, have been peppering The Crown.
Some scenes have received backlash, including fictionalised claims that then-Prince Charles tried to enlist Prime Minister Sir John Major to persuade the Queen to abdicate.
