Tottenham transfer news: Antonio Conte has been told four players aren’t good enough (Image: GETTY)Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has been told that four of his defensive rearguard are not good enough to compete at the top level. Former Scotland striker Ally McCoist singled out three centre-backs and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as the quartet of players Conte needs to improve on.Spurs crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday with a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. Conte stuck with the majority of the starting XI that lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.Harry Kane continued his run of starting every match in every competition so far this season. But Forest had too much against a tired Spurs team, scoring twice in the second half and holding on for the win despite going down to 10 men.McCoist believes the defence is the area letting Conte down the most. He singled out Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Clement Lenglet, as well as Lloris, as problem players for the Italian.McCoist said on talkSPORT: “I just don’t think they’re good enough defensively, I really don’t think they’re good enough defensively.READ MORE: Man Utd ‘tell Maguire he can leave’ with three clubs keen on transfer”Aye [Dier’s got a mistake in him], even Sanchez last night, Lenglet.
