KFC has been forced to apologise after sending a message to customers in Germany, urging them to commemorate Kristallnacht with cheesy chicken.
The Nazi-led series of attacks in the country in 1938 left more than 90 people dead, and destroyed Jewish-owned businesses and places of worship.
On 9 November 1938, mobs torched and ransacked synagogues and Jewish-owned businesses across Germany, an event widely seen as the start of the Third Reich’s drive to wipe out Jews.
The fast-food chain later blamed the message on ‘an error in our system’.
