Chelsea were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the third round on Wednesday when they were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. But Blues boss Graham Potter had one major positive on the night as young Chelsea defender Levi Colwill starred in Brighton’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal in the same competition.Colwill progressed through the Chelsea academy and enjoyed a loan spell at Huddersfield in the Championship last season as the Terriers reached the play-off final before losing to Nottingham Forest. And this season, the 19-year-old has headed off on loan to Brighton.Colwill is yet to start for the Seagulls in the Premier League, but came off the bench for cameo appearances during his side’s victories over Manchester United and Leeds earlier this season. The centre-back did, however, start for Brighton when they got the better of Forest Green in the second round of the Carabao Cup in August. And he was given another opportunity to impress against the Gunners.Colwill played the full 90 minutes alongside England international Lewis Dunk at the heart of the back four at the Emirates Stadium and produced a sensational display throughout the evening. The teenager was a rock in defence, while he also impressed in possession. And he played with maturity way beyond his years.MUST READ: Man Utd team news hint dropped as Ten Hag prepares to make changes Chelsea boss Graham Potter saw his team lose to Manchester City on Wednesday night (Image: GETTY)Despite falling behind to an early goal from Eddie Nketiah midway through the first half, Brighton soon hit back through Danny Welbeck’s strike.
