Lockdown after ‘suspicious package’ found at MI5 security service headquarters

The country’s security services headquarters were locked down after a member of staff raised the alarm over a suspicious package

A ‘suspicious package’ has been found at the MI5 headquarters, triggering a lockdown as specialist officers scramble to the scene.

The roads outside the security services headquarters have been shut to traffic as emergency services respond.

Staff have been advised to leave the building and officers were reportedly called just after 11:30am this morning after a staff raised the alarm over the suspect package.

But less than an hour later the Met Police told the Mirror that the device had been deemed non-suspicious and the emergency response was stood down.
