There are fears it is ‘only a matter of time’ before an officer or member of the public is killed because of high-risk eco-protests
It was a moment described by a police chief as a “game changer”, one that brought home the dangerous reality behind Just Stop Oil’s stunts.
As eco activists began their third day bringing Britain’s busiest motorway to a standstill, a police officer responding to the road chaos was knocked from his motorbike and injured.
Now there are fears among police that it is “only a matter of time” before either an officer or member of the public is killed because of the group’s high-risk tactics.
The day began with Just Stop Oil sending around 10 supporters to overhead gantries in “multiple locations” on the M25 from 6.30am, in a deliberate ploy to get police to close the road.
