Royal fans wowed after spotting Paul Chuckle in background of King Charles photo

Royal fans across Yorkshire have flocked to meet King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their official two-day visit, including the one and only Paul Chuckle

As royal fans flocked to see King Charles on a royal walkabout in Doncaster today, the last face many of us expected to see in the crowd was that of Paul Chuckle – real name Paul Elliott – from the Chuckle Brothers. The beloved comedy legend was spotted lining the streets, eagerly awaiting the arrival of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and fans couldn’t help but wonder how such a conversation would go.

The 75-year-old, who, alongside his late brother Barry made up one-half of the iconic comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers, was photographed beaming amongst other onlookers waiting outside Doncaster Mansion House. The King arrived for an unplanned walkabout to celebrate Doncaster’s new city status – and Paul took it as an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the monarch.

Sharing the cheery selfies via Twitter, an excited Paul wrote, ‘not long now’ as he waited patiently amongst the crowd.

Chuckle Brothers fans were eager to see a conversation take place between Paul and the new King, with one person writing on Twitter that it would be like ‘Royalty meeting Donny’s King’.
