A journalist was handcuffed by police while reporting on Just Stop Oil’s M25 protest and thrown in a cell for five hours, despite showing officers her press card.
Charlotte Lynch is a reporter for the Nick Ferrari Show on LBC and has covered multiple police incidents in the past.
But when she went to cover yesterday’s protest at junction 1 on the motorway, she was approached by two male Hertfordshire Police officers who asked why she was there.
Speaking about her ordeal today, she said she told them she was in a public space on a road bridge over the motorway taking pictures of the protesters.
