After being plucked from freedom and forced to work as a Handmaid, she spent four seasons trying to reunite with her husband Luke Bankole (played by O T Fagbenle). She also hoped to rescue her daughter Hannah Bankole (Jordana Blake) who had been ripped from her arms and placed with a new family in Gilead. After fighting for freedom against their brutal regimes and being severely punished, time and time again, June finally became a free woman in season four.
