Eddie Jones has revealed his concern for the long-term health of Courtney Lawes after confirming that the England captain would not play in the autumn internationals.
Lawes is still struggling with the effects of the concussion he suffered while playing for Northampton Saints against Leicester Tigers on September 24. It was his only appearance of the season.
The 33-year-old, who has won 96 England caps, is still not able to participate in contract training without experiencing symptoms and his activity is restricted to running and lifting weights.
Lawes missed England’s 30-29 defeat by Argentina on Sunday and he will not feature in the games against Japan, New Zealand or South Africa.
