Apparently, the Reddit user's wife lost her husband James about eight years ago, and, at the time, she was pregnant with their baby girl. Unfortunately, she miscarried the child soon after his death due to the stressful situation. Now, the Reddit user and his wife are expecting their first son together, which she wants to name after her ex-husband James. He makes his viewpoints clear that even though he thinks it's a nice name, he does not want to name their son after her ex. According to the husband, she dropped the conversation and offered the name Oliver, which they both loved and agreed upon. It was only three days later that he realized the origin of that name also was related to her ex-husband. He shares in the Reddit post that one evening her family was over for dinner and he shared the name with her sister, who revealed that it was her ex-husband's middle name. After they left, the Reddit user explained that he said to his wife "I've had it with her trying to push her ex into our lives like this." She countered that the couple already agreed on the name Oliver, to which he proposed that he wouldn't sign the birth certificate if she names their son after her ex.
