A Russian TV presenter was left speechless after a war correspondent claimed Vladimir Putin’s forces were making minimal gains of 3 centimetres per day in Donetsk against the Ukrainian counteroffensive. The Russia1 news anchor appeared confident of Russian troops’ advances, suggesting they would inevitably retake lost territories in the eastern region. The TV presenter seemed caught off guard as she cut short his appearance, saying: “Ok, thank you a lot, Dmitry Steshin, war correspondent from Komsomlskaya Pravda, speaking directly from Donbas, the frontline.”Ukrainian forces have made considerable advances since the start of their counteroffensive in September, retaking Kharkiv and parts of the four regions that Vladimir Putin annexed in a bid to intimidate Ukraine.
