McDonald’s is ditching iconic McFlurry spoon for paper version

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

McDonald’s has announced it is replacing plastic cutlery with paper spoons, knives and forks.

The fast-food giant said it hopes the move will eliminate 858 tonnes of plastic each year.

Bosses say the new cutlery will be made from renewable, FSC certified pressed-paper.

This includes the famous McFlurry spoon, which along with all McDonald’s packaging, will be fully recyclable and compostable by 2024.
