The presenter, 44, spoke about some of his youth whilst on Loose Women this afternoon. He appeared on the ITV show earlier to discuss his book, High Performance. He co-authored the book with psychologist Damian Hughes. The pair front a podcast of the same name, which looks into what it takes to become "high-achieving" and "world-class". Jake said that when he was younger he thought people were "born into success" and that it was for other people. He now believes its about mindset, such as doing the best you can, realising you're "enough" and pursuing happiness. She said: "A lot of people when they get to the point where they start thinking like this say they had to reach a bit of a rock bottom". Asked what his 'rock bottom' was, Jake responded: "I also looked at successful people and thought it was just a linear path". He further commented: "It isn't like that at all". Jake continued by providing examples of moments from his teenage years where things didn't go to plan. This included failing all three of his A-Levels, he revealed on the show. He commented: "If I go right back to the very beginning. [I] was sacked from McDonald's for a lack of communication skills." He said that it was "embarrassing". He spoke to the panelists about his podcast and book (Image: ITV) Jake added that his grandmother took her own life when he was studying for his A-Levels. He described it as "particularly devastating" and said the experience was a "knock". The presenter explained that shortly afterwards he failed all three of his A-Levels. He however suggested that this led to a career in TV, which he has pursued ever since. He said that it was while resitting his A-Level exams that he was approached by a TV production comp){kind=link}
