NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
The Leonid meteor shower will soon peak above the UK giving eager astronomy fans a sky full of shooting stars to watch.
The display occurs every November as debris from the Tempel-Tuttle comet comes into contact with Earth.
Providing the sky remains clear, the Leonids meteor shower can produce between 15 and 20 meteors per hour.
According to the Royal Observatory Greenwich, the Leonids shower is ‘usually one of the more prolific annual meteor showers, with fast, bright meteors.’
