The six-year-old has already scored twice over hurdles, including a decent Class 2 event at Ascot 12 months ago when it looked like he was going to take a big step forward. Things haven't quite worked out as hoped for since then, but his procedure should help him to return to his best. Captain Morgs has also finished second in a Listed race, and won't mind the ground if any more rain falls prior to this contest, having won at Ascot in soft conditions on his hurdles debut. Fiddlerontheroof and Call Me Lord are the two highest-rated horses but this race is likely being used to sharpen them up for other assignments later in the month.
