England are hoping their best is yet to come following a spluttering run to a third successive T20 World Cup semi-final without hitting their straps.
And it is a more than fair assessment as it is the verdict from the team themselves and not just a pithy soundbite from a TV pundit. Moeen Ali has been a key man for all three tournaments and he knows that this has been by far the hardest semi-final for England to get into.
The win over New Zealand was perhaps their most complete outing so far, but the vice captain is hoping the team will take a step up from the Sri Lanka game to take down India on Thursday.
“The Sri Lanka win was very nervy,” admitted Moeen. “We had a great start but so did they and they collapsed soâ¦.it should have been better.
