Around this time, Daniel had just finished writing the second series of his TV comedy Marley's Ghosts and found himself at a loose end. Alongside the lifestyles team, he keeps those he cares for entertained and goes the extra mile to ensure their families are included. "Because my dad had been in a residential home, tragically, with the most awful disease Alzheimers, it was the first time I came face to face with this terrible condition and I wasn't overly impressed with the care home. Daniel added: "My dad died of that horrible disease but working here has made me a better person." The screenwriter has recently been nominated for a National Care Award 2022 and said it will be his proudest moment if he manages to win. Daniel has helped set up a memory café at the care home, a support group for family members to go to and open up about their emotions.
