Cech signs for ice hockey side Chelmsford Chieftains after Chelsea exit

PETR CECH has signed for NIHL side Chelmsford Chieftains.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal star left Guildford Phoenix earlier this year after three years with the Surrey outfit.

Cech has joined the Chieftains on a one-year deal and his signing was announced ahead of the game against Oxford City Stars on Sunday.

The former goalkeeper, 40, made 20 appearances for Phoenix between 2019-2022 and helped them win the treble last year.

That included the NIHL Division Two South title, with Cech now playing in the tier above.
