Fed-up John Hallam, 75, claimed one neighbour who dared to jot down the registration of a rule-breaking car saw his window bricked hours later. And he told how a driver jostling for space scratched his car - causing £3,000 of damage. John, a retired contracts manager, said: 'I'd only had the car for a couple of weeks. Luckily, the insurance covered but it still cost me the £350 excess. 'They don't care that they're not supposed to park there - they do it anyway. 'There's never any wardens around to ticket them, so they feel they can get away with it. 'We daren't go out and confront them because of the abuse you get. 'You tell them they can't park there and they'll just say: 'I can park where I want' - and that's a kind way of putting it. 'It's just horrendous at school-run times. 'I go fishing and I've got to be back by 2.20pm otherwise I can't park outside the house. 'You can't just nip to the shops or anything like that. Both sides of the roads are packed.
