Peter has been largely out of the spotlight since a surprise appearance at a charity screening of his series Car Share in 2018. He cancelled his last stand-up tour in December 2017, citing "unforeseen family circumstances". Now Nicola - who has set up a fundraising page for her daughter to help secure potentially life-saving treatment in Germany - has told her followers: "Today's joy has been a very special treat, the most wonderful lunch at @whiteswan_fence with #PeterKay for company. "Laughter won't cure #Glioblastoma but it's definitely a blimmin' good distraction for a couple of hours." One of her followers asked: "How awesome is that. Just watched his show on BBC and he's a comic genius. What's he like in real life?" The dedicated parent replied: "The nicest, most thoughtful and naturally hilarious person. Everything you'd hope he'd be. "We're lucky to have him as a friend x" Another gushed: "They should prescribe Peter Kay...he was my next door neighbour for ages!! And that pub is AMAZING." Nicola then agreed: "It really is, I bet Peter was a lovely neighbour to have x" She had tagged the comedian in a hashtag, as he does not have Twitter.
