The Spaniard is determined to bring the good times back to a club that has not won a major trophy since the League Cup in 1996
Unai Emery has revealed his “dream” to secure Aston Villa’s first major trophy in 26 years and return the club to European football.
Emery was unveiled as Villa’s new head coach on Friday and is targeting silverware after making his return to the Premier League, three years after his dismissal at Arsenal.
The 51-year-old is arguably the most decorated manager in Villa’s history, after winning the Europa League four times and a Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
Villa’s chief executive Christian Purslow described the appointment as “the most important moment and important step” since the club’s return to England’s top division in 2019.
