King Charles’s environmental leadership hailed by Rishi Sunak

PM was among more than 200 political and business figures welcomed to Buckingham Palace ahead of the UN climate change summit Cop27

Rishi Sunak on Friday hailed the King’s huge contribution to the environmental cause.

The Prime Minister was among more than 200 leading political and business figures welcomed to Buckingham Palace by King Charles for a reception ahead of the UN climate change summit Cop27.

Mr Sunak thanked the King for his “long-standing and far-sighted leadership” on the environment.

He said: “His Majesty has been working to help find practical solutions to climate change and biodiversity loss for more than 50 years, long before Cop1, never mind Cop27.”
