Things take a sudden turn as he is seen covered in blood, wandering through the woods and responding violently to those around him. We then get a look at Duvall's character when she tells camera: 'You're a f**king murderer, Rico,' before the teaser ends with obscured glimpses of a werewolf. The official synopsis for the film reads: 'A man is tormented by nightmarish visions after enduring head trauma while camping in the Catskill woods.' Speaking on Duvall's casting, director Scott Goldberg explained that he was a huge fan of The Shining, and her work in the acclaimed horror. After 20 years away from the big screen, Shelley Duvall is making her acting comeback in The Forest Hills.
The actress, most known from her leading role in The Shining, announced her retirement from acting in 2002, after starring in Manna from Heaven.
She largely kept herself out of the spotlight during this time, though her appearance on a 2016 episode of Dr Phil gained notoriety after many criticised the segment for reportedly being exploitative towards her.
