The supermarket previously offered free electric vehicle charging but drivers now have to pay from 28p per kW. Some say they will shop elsewhere
Tesco is no longer offering free electric car charging points at their supermarkets, a move one driver branded “disgusting”.
The retail giant brought in a new 28p per kW charge on Tuesday for people wanting to use their onsite charging points.
Tesco have teamed up with Volkswagen and EV charging station provider Pod Point, with plans to install around 2,400 charge points.
The initial charge for 7kW connections was free but from today, they will pay 28p per kWh, Birmingham Live reports.
