60mph winds could cause power cuts after yellow weather warnings issued

Parts of the country could lose power as gale force winds hit coastal areas, the Met Office has warned.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for tomorrow night, when wind is expected to develop on the coast below London.

This includes Weymouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton and Dover.

Areas just above the coastline in Kent, such as Canterbury and Ashford, will also be affected.

These places are likely to be hit with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport and possibly a short-term loss of power.
