 Just as in Arsenal's last Premier League home game against Liverpool there was an early goal for Martinelli, and again it showcased how he's progressed as a footballer. Against Jurgen Klopp's side earlier this month he showed a laser focus in front of goal as he drifted in from the left, and again here there was great off the ball movement as he knocked the ball out to Saka and then burst into the penalty area to head home the Englishman's cross. That run from out to in is what we see from many of the great forwards in the modern game, those who come alive in the box and decide the biggest matches in the most clinical of ways. Arsenal’s Premier League feelgood factor rolled on with a dominant win over Nottingham Forest.
Having suffered their first defeat of the season at PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League on Thursday, the Gunners roared into the lead when Gabriel Martinelli headed home a Bukayo Saka cross after five minutes.
Saka went off injured with an ankle problem in the first half, replaced by Reiss Nelson, and the wide man struck twice at the start of the second half to extend the advantage and bury a well-beaten Forest.
Thomas Partey fired home a fine fourth from distance, before skipper Martin Odegaard smashed a fifth as the Gunners returned to the top of the league.
